Homeowner’s Insurance Information
Homeowner’s Insurance Information
ISO Public Protection Classification:
ISO is an independent organization funded by U.S. property insurance companies. Its PPC program assesses a community’s fire protection capabilities and overall preparedness. This classification is widely used by insurance providers to help determine premiums for fire-related coverage. In general, a lower PPC rating—indicating stronger fire protection—can result in reduced homeowner insurance costs.
How ISO Determines Ratings
ISO’s expert team collects and analyzes data from three critical areas within the jurisdiction:
- Fire Department Operations – Staffing, training, equipment, and response capabilities.
- Emergency Communications – Dispatch systems and reliability of communication networks.
- Water Supply – Availability, distribution, and maintenance of hydrants and water systems for firefighting.
After reviewing these elements, ISO assigns a classification that reflects the community’s overall fire protection readiness.
Commitment to Excellence
Avalon Fire Rescue District remains dedicated to delivering high-quality emergency services and continually improving fire protection for all residents.
