Meet the Fire Prevention Officer

It is a privilege to serve you as the Fire Prevention Officer for the Avalon Fire Rescue District. I have been blessed to be part of this department since 2007, when I joined as a volunteer while working full‑time in management. I graduated from the Pensacola Fire Academy in 2017, earned my Fire Officer I and Fire Instructor I certifications in 2018, completed my Associate of Fire Science in 2020, and received my Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration in 2024. In June 2023, I accepted a full‑time position with Avalon Fire Rescue and obtained my Fire Safety Inspector certification later that year.
Our goal is to meet your needs through comprehensive fire prevention practices, including permitting, inspections, and school and community education, supported by the services already provided by our highly trained career and volunteer firefighters. We offer fire prevention materials and station visits for anyone interested in learning more about our department and the fire service.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions, to schedule a visit, or to plan a community event that includes fire prevention opportunities.
To schedule a meeting, you may contact me at (850) 459‑4449 or email me at tpeterson@avalonfirerescue.com.
Thank you, and stay safe!
